Bitter tasting
Initially I really liked this coffee maker. It has all the features to make lattes, etc. and is easy to use. However after a couple of weeks I decided to return it. It does something to the taste of the coffee. I tried making it exactly right, tried changing coffees but it still have a funny bitter taste which I can only assume is from the type of materials used, or the way it creates the coffee. Also had a problem getting hot enough coffee. So not recommended unless you don't care how the coffee tastes (like my husband).
However, I have a WestBend kettle which is fantastic so this is not a review against the brand which has does have good products.
Much bang for buck!
Have no idea why so many have had problems with this unit. One complaint is that it's flimsy. My last 3 in 1 from DeLonghi cost twice as much and was much flimsier (and messier), especially the plug for the pour and serve. I've had no problem with drips or messes, in fact it's surprisingly clean. Overall, it's fairly sturdy (especially for the price). I admit the holder for the espresso filter is flimsy (so be careful?), but it's really not that important anyway. I would prefer the lid for the pot be removable for easier cleaning, but again, if you're aware and careful it isn't a problem. It is slow, but I found that to be a benefit. By brewing slower, it makes much better use of the coffee grounds and I found I could cut my grounds (and I grind my own) by 20% over previous levels and get the full flavor I enjoy (and I like it strong). So, if you want a good cup of coffee or espresso at a great price, I highly recommend.

Worst Coffee Maker....EVER
We bought this piece of junk thinking it would be a good addition to our kitchen. WRONG! The little knob on the bottom of the filter broke after the second pot. The filter tray gets clogged up if you have even .01 tsp over what is needed and then...it overflows! We now have a nice brown stain where this piece of junk sits. The overflow of water caused our toaster and breadmaker to burn up...lovely!
I'd suggest writing to westbend to complain, it's the only way to get it replaced by them.

Well so far this machine has been great for the price, while the espresso isn't great it makes a fairly good mocha. It isn't a 3 or 5 hundred dollar machine, let's face it it wasn't even .00. I usually spend .00 or .00 a week on mochas so if I get even 6 months out of it will will have paid for itself several tiimes over. If you are looking for Starbucks either go to Starbucks or get yourself a 0.00 machine but if you are looking for a fairly good mocha or cappucino then give it a try.

I read these reviews before buying this book, but went and bought it anyway because I wanted to save. Well, now suffer the worst coffee I ever had. The espresso is great, the nozzle works very well, espresso, etc. are not very good pitcher and is splashed everywhere, but I made some great cappuccinos. Regarding the side of coffee, if you want black coffee, the temperature will be allowed. If you like milk in coffee is not hot enough. But the biggest problem is the taste of coffee. I use the cafe where I made my pharmacy to buy a coffee, I also just tried Starbucks ground, and there is still a strange taste and experience that I am impatient. . . SUCK! Do not waste money, spend more dollars for a good or perhaps even two separate systems. Rating: 2 / 5

My husband said it would be a car in Nice with the added value of “milk froth” – our expectations have been increased. Unfortunately, in the first week or two, pause and serve “broken. It was one of the main reasons I agreed to this machine. It requires much more space on my desk most of the other machines we bought. Now, one year after – I agree with another reviewer – it takes eight years to make a dish. No, take it back, to prepare a half pot! Stay away from this machine. decide what features are important to you before making a final decision . If you are looking for an elegant, pause and service, efficient and coffee – look elsewhere. I bought this from Walmart and have it tested and it worked very well so I threw the receipt and box. A month after the plastic has broken exhaust for now hangs sping and pain in the ass to get the pot up. I can not go back (though im going to try). coffee machines I’ve owned cheap in my life and that seemed to be better than that dear. Moreover, the coffee does not work too hot.
